A colleague send me this message on Friday.
'...there is a "Clearance" table in our South-Western store for all the old stock Jock has been finding in the store... a customer said to him
"oh this is great that you have all this free stuff"
Jock:"no its on clearance"
Customer: "yes that's right clearance, for free"
Jock: "no clearance doesn't mean free, you still have to pay for it"
Customer: "oh i thought clearance was free"
Jock: "no it's spelt differently"
Good on you Jock, sometimes I wish I had the audacity to say similar things, instead I would have patiently explained to the customer that nothing is free. I know I live up north in Hicksville, but come-on where in Australia does Clearance = Free, especially when you are in a shop?
