I'm leaving them

Only for one night but I am freaking out.

Next Tuesday I jump on a plane in the wee hours of the morning, spend the day at a huge Tupperware thing in Brisbane, sleep, see baby C (oh, hopefully the rest of her family too) and jump on a plane and come home just after lunch.

Tomorrow I am hoping to sweet talk the accommodation place into giving me a cheaper rate. Not real hopeful on that front but you wont get it if you don't ask. Does anyone know someone that works at the Mantra South Bank???

I've booked the plane tickets, I cant' pull out.

It's not that long.

One night.

I can do it.

It's only 32 hours.

Without my babies.

Can I start crying yet?

How will I be in March when I go away for a whole weekend?

Also... Baby C came home from hospital a week ago, she is a tough little chick. I can't wait to meet her. I can't wait to give her big sisters a big hug too, a really big hug! Move back here you guys, I hate being so far away from you!

  1. I don't know how people go away for a whole week without their kids. I would miss them too much. You'll feel all refreshed when you get back from 1 night away. I'm spending the night at my sister-in-law's house in a couple of weeks. I've never been away from my kids either. Only when I gave birth to them.

    Have fun!

    Much love from NJ,

  2. I'm pretty much a weenie about leaving mine--yep, all eight (you'd think I'd run away on a fairly regular basis)--so I'm probably not a lot of help--but I know you'll enjoy your time and your little guys will be fine! Enjoy seeing baby C!!

    Blessings!

  3. I spent a week in Sydney without my kids AND they were still back here in the U.S.
I thought it was going to be terribly hard, but it was so refreshing AND I got to bring cool gifts back for them! :)

  4. I think the distance makes it feel worse, after all they have had sleepovers here for as long as that. But here they are only 5 minutes away.

  5. I remember the first time my hubby and I left our son overnight with my parents. We had a great time but I really missed my baby and had to call to check up on him. You'll have fun and be fine but you'll miss them too.

  6. Don't be a wimp - go and enjoy yourself - homecomings are enjoyable too! Just think how much fun the three boys are going to have whilst you are away - I did say think, not imagine (imagination can sometimes go awry).

  7. I hope you can relax and have a good time while you're away. I used to travel a lot with a former job, and enjoyed it, until I had my daughter. Then my trips got shorter and shorter. I would book the last flight out and the first flight home, no matter what time it meant I had to be at the airport.

I did enjoy the sleep though and being able to read non-stop without needing to do anything else.

My husband and daughter always had fun and were happy to see me when I returned.

(P.S. I just read your earlier post about the PYTHON.... Python? Yikes!)

  8. Oh, you'll have a great time - inbetween calling home and worrying about the boys and hopefully getting some sleep.

Trust me, when you get home it will be like you were never gone.

Now, a friend of mine spent 6 weeks in Italy without her five babies. That I couldn't do.

  9. Relax and have a nice time away.

They will miss you a whole lot less than you miss them - speaking from experience.

PS. I'm a big sucky mom, too!

  10. I know what you're feeling, I miss mine terribly. Still Saint Bernard has the right idea, it's good for them to have fun without you, it helps them bond with each other.

I'd love to hear from you, even if it's just to say "Hi, I stopped by for a read today"
