It's a BIG BIRTHDAY WEEK here. Lion's birthday today (Monday) and Dragon's birthday on Friday. We had a "small" family party at a park on Sunday afternoon to get things started. Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, great Aunts, Great Grandma, Cousins, Second cousins, I start to get a bit lost here but there were more! Okay, the party was small, the family is NOT. They are having a combined party for a few friends next weekend at our house and I didn't want that one to get too big with family as well so a bit of food at a park and everyone can sit in the shade and get eaten by mosquitoes relax while kids go crazy.
We had presents.
We had fun.
We had cake.
We had a typical McTavish family photo.
See the kids hovering in the background by the water bubbler? Well, we also had 3 random parentless children scabbing our birthday cake.
There will be more birthday posts coming through the week (including that cake recipe) because it's all too much for one post and I have a sweet little Monkey who is refusing to go to sleep tonight. So stay tuned for posts on Lion's birthday, Dragon's birthday, the party and the cake recipe... like I said, it's a BIG BIRTHDAY WEEK.
I love the cake! and chuckled over the typical family photo. That is just how it goes for awhile. They are all sweet.

Close together birthdays are the best. I hear you on the big family small party thing.
ReplyDeleteFunny about the three parentless kids. We get that a lot around here.
Happy Birthday Lion and Dragon!
Go to sleep sweet little monkey!
That's the cutest cake! I find that I have great interest in little boy cakes, now that I have one of my own on the way.
ReplyDeleteAlso the family photo looks very, very familiar to me.
Happy birthday Lion! He looked like he was having a great time. No wonder the parentless kids wanted in on the action. Great looking cake! And very appropriate for your fellow.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the week goes well with party preparations.
Happy Birthday to both of the boys! (My your timing was perfect)
ReplyDeleteThat is a good looking cake. Much more impressive as a whole. I read the most recent post first, with the partial and the disguised cut sides. ;) Don't get me wrong, I'll still take a piece. Park birthdays are the best. Strange scavenging children not so much.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are awesome! I love it! Looks like you guys really had a blast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun party! We used to have that problem with family & friends getting too many for birthday parties (now we don't have that problem - sob). The cake looks great! You are also looking fantastic!
