Sunday Snapshot

Sunday Snapshot is back... Don't bother with the knife and fork it's a platter of pieces just the size you like them.

Monkey often gets VERY sick and tired of Dragon but he was enjoying playing with Dragon on Dragon's big boy bed on this day.

There's something about my babies wrapped up in these bright orange towels... I just have to take a photo! Oh yeah, he's liking REAL baths now! YAY!

I didn't just make one cupcake... I didn't make these two trays... I made 102 cupcakes, 98 were decorated and made it to the party, about 20 came home.

Lion is enrolled for Prep next year... He is soooo excited. Mummy is close to tears just at the thought of it. I felt a bit better after attending an information night and met a couple of the teachers and saw some of the rooms. Not better enough that it stopped the sadness.

So what did your kids get most excited about when they were talking about starting school? Lion's new school is getting a new Library. That clinched the deal for him!

And now, I'm tired and want to go to sleep. Goodnight.

  1. Yum, love bits and pieces! Just want to climb in that big boy bed and cuddle those two darling boys.

What is it about orange? I have wanted everything to be orange lately.

Big boy Lion headed off to school. #5 brought home the most adorable book about a lion in in the library. I'll try to find information for you on publisher etc.

  4. Those cupcakes look awesome! And they must have been pretty tasty if they almost all disappeared.
Monkey looks adorable in his towel.
I'm glad Lion's excited about school and the library. A boy can never have too many books :)
Rowan wasn't super excited about going to school. Not unhappy, just wasn't sure why everyone was more excited than him. Nathan was very keen to be a big boy. So more the concept than one particular thing.

  5. That's a lot of cupcakes. And they're yummy-scrumptious looking.

Hannah had been in pre-school (daycare) because I worked full-time. But I'll never forget her first day of kindergarten. She came home just beaming.... First words out of her mouth, "I carried my (lunch) tray and didn't even drop it!"

How exciting that your little Dragon will be going off to school. He'll be so proud of himself! (and lucky you, you'll still have that little Monkey around.)

  14. @Debi - I will send you chocolate cupcake thoughts. I think Aussie Post would freak out if I put butter frosting in a post box.

@Suz - I'm sorry to say but these cupcakes were made with a metric recipe... you'll be puttin' on kilos with these babies. Twice as nasty!

  15. Your little monkey is getting so big so fast. He's just delicious in the orange towel. Although those cupcakes distracted me almost immediately. I would've eaten one...or twenty. :)

  16. You did so well with those cupcakes! I am like the worst cup cake maker in the world - they always overflow the wrappers or are weird shapes. Monkey is growing so quickly & looking absolutely adorable! As for school, I don't think the sadness ever goes (although now it has, but this is from observing friends), although I think it helps when they are just loving it.

  18. Well, Hello Mummy!!! Sounds like you are busy. Those cupcakes are works of art.

Your kids are so cute. Monkey is growing so fast. Lion is going to school soon, wow!

My kids just went to school for the first time (we homeschooled) this year. It was strange for me, but at this age I felt they would just do fine. We had some bumps at the beginning with my girl, but they are both doing fine now.

It is hard to walk away from their school when they are so young.

Enjoy his time at home now. Maybe you will be ready when the day actually arrives.

    Have a nice weekend,
    Nannette
