The weekend was all about these two beautiful people...
and why was it about these two beautiful people?
Because Em and Pete were getting MARRIED!!!!
Em looked beautiful, she stayed looking beautiful even with gale force winds BLASTING us during the beach-side ceremony, all through the photos and the entire reception (that was moved inside to protect everyone from the wind but the only place for the bridal table was on the balcony in the wind).
Wolf managed to get himself and the three boys all scrubbed up and at the ceremony with plenty of time to spare. We almost forgot to take a family photo but remembered just in time for me to rush off to the official photos and Wolf to take the kids to eat before going to the babysitters.
That's why the boys shirts are untucked, Dragon's tie is rather dishevelled, and the boys have all but given up on cooperating.
They did pause for long enough for Wolf to take this photo a little earlier.
The wedding party had a great time. I happen to think myself and my fellow bridesmaids were looking particularly good...
and I got to catch up with some wonderful friends...
Left to right: Jen, Lan, Em, Me, Ni.
Now, stay focused here, Em is actually the newcomer to this group, we've only know her since we were 9. Jen and Lan have been best friends since forever, I've been hanging around since about then too. Lan, Ni and I started grade one together and Em joined us in grade four. We all knew Jen already but she came to our school in grade eight. Fast forward a little while... first year out of school Ni left for a year in Japan, she came back and both her and Em left for uni down south, third year out of school and I got married and left town, came back the next year, eventually Em came back too, Lan and Jen never left and Ni occasionally comes to visit us... y'know, when something important happens... like sweet Em gets married!!!
Hopefully there will be more photos of the rest of our weekend soon... maybe.
Wow, everyone is beautiful - especially Em. I could hardly recognise anyone in their glad rags. As for the (little) boys - not quite as 'power dressed' as I imagined, but very cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely that you have all been friends for so long.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to her.
And in spite of the un-tucked shirts, you and all your boys, make a beautiful bunch. ;)
You all look just beautiful! What a fun time you must have had. It's amazing that you have all kept in contact for so long. I only keep in contact with 2 friends I went to school with - the earliest was from grade 7.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures - especially like the one of the boys by the water - it does look like it's quite a wild day to be at the beach though.
Hope you have a great week
Renata :)
