The Wonder of the Cross
Vicky Beeching
O precious sight, my Savior stands,
Dying for me with outstretched hands.
O precious sight, I love to gaze,
Remembering salvation’s day,
Remembering salvation’s day.
Though my eyes linger on this scene,
May passing time and years not steal
The power with which it impacts me,
The freshness of its mystery,
The freshness of its mystery.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
Behold the God-man crucified,
The perfect sinless sacrifice.
As blood ran down those nails and wood,
History was split in two, yes,
History was split in two.
Behold the empty wooden tree,
His body gone, alive and free.
We sing with everlasting joy,
For sin and death have been destroyed, yes,
Sin and death have been destroyed.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
Marvel at the cross with us today,
Wolf, Mummy, Lion, Dragon and Peach Blossom McTavish
Excellent.
ReplyDeleteThat would make a great Easter Hymn (Song). Know anyone musical enough?
ReplyDeleteI just did the calculation for Peach Blossoms's grand entrance. Did you know that Sept 6th this year is Father's Day? How about that Dad - some Father's Day present eh?
What a wonderful reflection! Wishing you a happy and blessed Easter to you and your (growing) family. Rowan is very taken with Peach Blossom's countdown. I'm amazed your nearly half way, give or take.
ReplyDeleteSt B - Wolf can get you the details of what CD's it's on, Vicky Beeching wrote the music for it too. It has a beautiful tune to go with it. September 6 is a great day... brothers anniversary, best friends birthday, fathers day(this year). August 31 which will be our C-section date is not so memorable... YET.
ReplyDeleteRowan :) - I'm glad you like our counter. Did you know you can click on the counter section to change the format? weeks down/weeks to go, days down/days to go... I find it rather scary that so much time has passed so quickly. Give your mummy an Easter hug!
Amen! Have a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Have a lovely Easter!
