Help me if you can....

Now you will have that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day...

You're welcome.

So here's what I need help with...

I've gotta make a list...

Well, I don't gotta but I wanna...

30 things on my list...

30 dot points...

30 items long...

I need to do my list by Wednesday...

Because that's my birthday.

I want to do a 30 before 30 list.  I know a lot of people do these sort of list and I thought that with my 29th coming up it was a good excuse, and if I leave it another 10 years I'll have to think of 10 extra things to accomplish!  I figure with my history of non-stick-with-it-edness (it is too a word) this will help me to actually stick with some things and see them through so I can cross them off my list.  These things can be things that benefit me, things that benefit others, easy things, hard things, cooking challenges, craft challenges, stuff with kids, stuff with Wolf, whatever... within reason.

here is my list of what "within reason" means...

  • No, I will not try a pole dancing class, but thanks for the suggestion, Em.
  • I don't have a lot of money so for the most part they need to be free or use things that I have or can get/do cheaply.
  • I am not interested in embarrassing myself just for the sake of ticking something off my list.
  • I don't have mountains of free time to dedicate to weekly classes of any sort or that sort of thing.
  • I'm not up for danger... I decided last night that I could swim in a cage with sharks (totally not related to this list, just a show we were watching on TV) and I could skydive, but really, I don't need to do those things and I do need to stay safe for my family's sake.
I started a list when I was out with some girlfriends last week celebrating one of their 29th birthdays.  I would like to do some things to benefit a couple of charities I support, I would like to cook my way through a cookbook, try a couple of crafts I haven't tried before, perhaps cook my way around the continents for a week, but I still have a lot of list space to fill.

So, put your thinking caps on and let me know in the comments... what should be on my list?

  1. You could aim to try every flavour of gelato at Juliettes.

Pick a book that you have wanted to read and aim to read it.

Take a photo and enter it in a photography competition.

Have a day alone with each of your boys ... including Wolf ... doing something special together.

I'll keep thinking, but those are off the top of my head ... have fun and good luck :)

  2. Okay, I'm back again. There is a website called day zero project - dayzeroproject.com and it is a whole website of things like this. The aim for most of these people is to complete 100 things in 1000 days but same idea. I think you might find some inspiration there if you need it.

Some of the things that I read quickly that you might also like:

Write a letter to yourself to open in 10 years.

Create a piece of art that you are proud enough to hang in your house.

Watch the sunrise from a special location.

Create a journal/scrapbook to document your journey.

I could go on for a while, so I'll leave you alone now :)

  4. I have alot of movies on my "I WILL watch one day" list. Maybe there is one in particular you really really really want to see and can add that. Or book, or play etc (P.S. Live theatre is not overly popular here so if you go to the theatre, you will also be supporting them so you can tick two things off).

This one will be a big one, but I know you and I know you could do it if you really wanted to. You could write a book. Well, not so much of the writing, but it would be a fantastic book of photos! You take some pretty incredibly interesting photos and I think they would be great in a book. (One bullet point is to make the book, another could be to get it published, but then you're relying on someone else so it may not get done) (P.S. I hope that didn't sound insulting when I said not so much the writing, you get what I mean don't you???? I just mean you have such a talent with your photography that the photos will really be what the book is all about)

Make up a saying and make it catch on.

I can't wait to see your list. It'll be one hell of a fun list for sure!

I'd love to hear from you, even if it's just to say "Hi, I stopped by for a read today"
